Classic Golf & Country Club will mark its return to the Asian Tour after 10 Years

The Classic Golf & Country Club is back to the Asian Tour after 10 years, with the newest Asian Tour event – the Classic Golf & Country Club International Championship, starting from September 12th in Gurugram, Haryana.

With the original planned “Take Solutions” event was moved to the beginning of next year, the Classic Golf & Country Club clutched the available slot. The famous CG&CC also, hosting the $400,000 Panasonic Open, which is being played later this year.

Asian Tour events in India have produced at least two domestic winners every year since 2011, except once in 2013. So, there is yet another chance for skilled and young Indian golfers to perform well and win the $300,000.

All Eyes On Indian Champs

The former Asia No.1 Jyoti Randhawa, also the No.1 golfer in the PGTI standings Rashid Khan, along with the 2017 Yeangder Tournamnent Champion Ajeetesh Sandhu, and the 2015 Panasonic Open Winner Chiragh Kumar, are amongst the top Indian Golfers who will be seen playing at the course, next week.

Among the young and talented golfers, the players to watch out for are Viraj Madappa, and Khalin Joshi, who has won the region’s premier tour last season in Bangalore and Delhi.

Chikkarangappa S, who is at No.2 position in the PGTI standings, will look to fetch his name on the newly instituted Trophy. He has won twice on the Asian Development Tour and has also represented India at the World Cup, but is still in search of his first Asian Tour win.

Classic Golf & Country Club was designed by iconic golfer Jack Nicklaus, who is a genius of the sport. This golf course is the first Jack Nicklaus Signature golf course in South Asia.

The last Asian Tour event played at the Classic Golf & Country Club was the SAIL Open back in 2009, and now, after 10 years the course is all set to witness the magic of the Asian Tour’s Classic Golf & Country Club International Championship.
